Project Updates

Project Updates

Following on from public consultation events held in 2021, we have progressed the project design and have now produced a final wind turbine layout.  The revisions to the draft layout previously presented are primarily associated with feedback from the public, and revisions to the site constraints arising from further studies.

The revised proposal, for which BnM and SSE Renewables intend to submit a planning application in the coming months, comprises of 11 turbines with an overall tip height of 200 metres. For reference, the previous draft layout, published in 2021, consisted of 14 turbines, with an overall tip height of 200 metres.

Should there be any significant change to the proposed layout prior to submission we will keep you informed.

A Public Information Evening will be held to discuss the final layout on 8th October 2025, from 5.00pm to 8.30pm in Moycarkey Borris Community & Sport Centre, Ballybeg, Littleton, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, E41 A0V5.

BnM and SSE Renewables have launched a 50:50 joint venture which will target the delivery of up to 800MW of new renewable onshore wind energy across the Midlands.

This partnership includes the proposed Littleton Wind Farm located in Tipperary. Since the first announcement of this proposed wind farm in 2021, Bord na Móna has appointed a project Community Engagement and Stakeholder Team including a designated Community Liaison Officer to engage with local communities and near neighbours.

This team remains in place and your local Community Liaison Officer, Colm will continue to be available to meet residents as before and is contactable at 087 4143305. The joint venture partnership is fully committed to continuing to inform and engage with you through an active communication programme.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended the Community Engagement Sessions and submitted feedback through the various channels provided as part of the consultation process for the proposed development.
